My leak was more noticeable when the tank was full or after driving around the city. My fix was the vent hose was rotted off at the tank entry. The vent hose goes from the filler neck (where you put in the gas) to the gas tank. The good news for you is this problem was recalled by Ford and should be fixed at no charge to you. The bad news for me was I found out about the recall after I fixed mine.
