Have the transmission checked for codes. If it is going into 2nd and not shifting anymore, the computer has detected a problem and set a code, this locks it into "limp in" until a key cycle.

Q: Your 1994 Concorde speeds up and if you go to fast it drops down in to first gear and wont shift if you stop and turn car off for a min or two it resets like and works good for a lil bit?
