there is actually a temperature control sensor either on the rear of the block or some cases on the coolant fan itself. this is usually the problem
We replaced the temperature gauge in my 1991 Chevy blazer what is the normal operating temp?
The temperature gauge is broken.Could also be the temperature senor/sending unit, or a short in the circuit.
If the temperature gauge is not working, one thing it could be besides the gauge itself is a blown fuse. Another possibility is a loose or broken wire on the gauge.Ê
Could be temperature sensor Could be gauge
it may be your thermostat or water pump is it over heating with steam comming out ?
Is vehicle actually overheating? Could be a bad temperature sending unit or gauge Check temperature with a thermometer If thermostat does not open vehicle will overheat
The 1999 Cadillac normal coolant temperature gauge reading should be 180 degrees. A 195 degrees thermostat could be used, causing the temperature gauge to read 195.
check the power to gauge and the temperature sensor (tps). if no power broken wire or short to ground. if power to both areas bad gauge.
Could be bad news. Have it checked for a cracked head gasket. I had a similar problem with mine -- had to replace the engine.
1995 MonteCarlo i have heat when car is idle but when you put in gear and you give it gas has no heat any thoughts i have already had the head gaskets replaced and the heater core flushed but still no heat
Could be the coolant temperature sensor.
only if running the air.
