I finally found the source of the water in my tail lights to be in the tight spot between the brakelight and the turn signal light. Looks like the light cause the section to overheat and split creating a large but hard to see opening for water to 444enter. I used some red high temperature silicone that I had left over to seal it up....
Yes..
To change the gauge lights on a 1998 Ford Taurus SE, the dash cover has to be removed to access the burned out bulbs. There are screws and clips holding the dash cover on.
There is a plastic cover in the front wheelwell that gives access to the headlamps
Just open the back hatch of the vehicle. When you do that, you will see two screws holding the brake light cover to the vehicle. Take them off, then separate the cover from the vehicle. This will gain you access to the lights.
On a 2004 PT Cruiser it is just ahead of the air filter. Remove the air filter cover to service the battery.
With your hands

You have to remove the tail light lens cover from inside the trunk- there are about 6 nuts holding it on --the whole cover comes off and bingo there are your lites for the Pontiac emblem that lights up!! There are no lights persay just for the Licence plates on my 96 Sunfire and I assume the same on a 98

There is a fusebox under the hood right behind the air filter assembly. You have to remove the cover. You have to remove the air filter assembly to get to the fusebox cover. It is a rectangular cover that lifts off from the left. The fuse you want is a small 15amp fuse back row next to a 10 amp fuse. Actually turn the cover over and the fuses are diagramed for you. Keep Cruising
in the trunk there should be plastic cover clip ons that u can take out, take those plastic cover out, and u should see the nuts that r holding the taillights on, unscrew those nuts and u can take out the tail lights
I just opened under hood fuse box on my 2005 cruiser. There is a black clip-like assembly on the driver's side edge of the cover for the fuse box that you move and the cover comes right off.
