Depending on the vehicle, the 4 to 2 wheel drive actuators could be a mechanical cable, electronic solenoid, or a computer controlled switch. If there is a button to push for the change, then run a check of the computer codes, as a problem may show there.
back up a few feet
It depends on the vehicle and if it actually has 4 wheel drive. Some vehicles have it on the dashboard while some have it on the floor of the vehicle
You have to be stopped with the transmission in neutral when you shift in or out of low 4 wheel drive. Park doesn't work as neutral. When you push the rocker switch up for high 4 wheel drive once you will be in high 4 wheel drive, push it again for high 2 wheel drive, you can shift between high 2 and 4 wheel drive while you are driving.
With the engine running , and the vehicle stopped with your foot on the brake pedal shift the transmission to NEUTRAL and then rotate your selector switch to 4X4 low then put in drive / reverse ( to switch back from 4X4 low to 2 wheel drive , with the engine running , and the vehicle stopped with your foot on the brake pedal , shift to NEUTRAL and then rotate your selector switch to 2 wheel drive then put in drive / reverse )
Yes. It would be illegal to advertise them that way if they were not. Though some have the ability to switch between 2 and 4 wheel drive.
Try putting the Envoy in neutral and then switch to 2 wheel drive.
D-U-M-B question. Full time all wheel drive.
You can't. The 1994 JGC has Quadra Trac, all the time 4 wheel drive. It should never go into 2 wheel drive. If it does, have your Jeep looked at immediately.
Check your tire pressure, true
Put the transmission in the neutral position, then shift the vehicle back in to 2 wheel drive
The FX4 F-250 is an automatic 4 wheel drive although there is also a manual system that you can use to switch from 2 wheel drive to four wheel drive.
2 wheel drive
