I have never known for sure what can cause it. I myself have had warts in that area since I was 7 or 8 please for her sake do not freeze them off. that is the most ungodly feeling you can ever have. I was in pain for 5 hours after I had some frozen off. had to be carried out of the doctors office by my parents riding in the backset of the car laying down. PLEASE DO NOT GET THEM FROZEN OFF. I am now 36 still have them. I wished I knew what caused it. but do not. Your Dr can prescribe a solution that you can use at home. USE IT and it is not a painfull.
