Your 90 Mazda miata will not stayed cranked when you turn the key it dies as soon as you let the key go could this be a fuel prob it had been stored for a year?

could be bad gas ,i would suspect battery first, especially aftyer sitting with no charge for a year.Put in new battery so you get good hot spark. then try fuel filer and clean injectors.If possible put in fresh gas, i know easier said than done.
