I can only assume that your are talking about the turbo charger, when you use the word "cavitates," however, I cannot remember the Lumina ever comming with one. Anyway, they make a plate, that goes in the turbo, to stop cavitation. I think they call it an anti-cavitation, plate.
why does my 1991 Chevy lumina that when going up a hill or when it reaches approximatly 65 mph starts hestitating, when cars get older they do that.

2006 Chevy inpala with 3.5 engine wy do it shift in over drive at 30 35 miles hour

If you go 2 the dealer about $85-$100 an hour + parts. If you go to a shop about $50-$70. Dependes on where you live.
you just hold the hour button for a few seconds, same as the minute button. for a few seconds.should move. when it moves,go to the right number on your clock :)
I guess it would depend if the replacement part is a bolt in or a weld in, either way it should take about a half hour to a hour of shop time.

The maximum speed of a 1995 Chevrolet Lumina LS is approximately 120 miles per hour (193 kilometers per hour). This performance is typical for mid-sized sedans of that era, equipped with a V6 engine. However, actual speeds can vary based on factors like vehicle condition and maintenance.
Its usually hidden in with the heater controls behind the dash. Good Luck finding it. Took me an hour and a half to trace the wires using a wiring diagram.
