dont do lime wire...its illegal ____ The software Limewire, isn't itself illegal. You will not get into trouble simply by having it in your computer. What may get you into trouble is the programs/music you download using it. You are free to download NON copyrighted material or anything in the public domain. You legally cannot download copyrighted material. And yes you can install Limewire if you are running Vista.

Running he program shouldn't. If you download a virus or any other malware, then yes, it can hurt your computer.

Forget SP1. Install SP2 which contains all the updates in SP1. Do not download! Order the free SP2 CD from Microsoft. To stop any program from running, right click the task bar at the bottom of your screen. Select Task Manager, click the applications tab and shut down all running programs. I don't see why you would get CD and not download. download is free CD is not. that shouldn't be a problem really. If u get the latest sp it includes the previous one as well and you shoud stop whatever is interfeering with the install.

Yes. LimeWire can only share files while it is running.

nope. they would have to download the movie that you are sharing themselves, and then watch it. if you dont want to share a file, then either just move it out of the limewire shares directory or there should be a button inside limewire that lets you choose if you want to share a file or not.
