check that the vaccuum hose to brake booster is not clogged up.then check pcv valve.other than that it sounds like the power booster for brakes needs replacing, thses are not usually repairable
Quite possibly a vacuum leak, or problem with fuel flow. Vacuum leaks can be bad at idle and cause it to stall, a fuel problem would make it very difficult to move at all.
You have a misfire - engine related, not tranny...get the engine checked/tuned up...etc... dave
Sounds as though the gas line has a hole in it, in the tank. Going to have to drop the tank to repair this one.
Sounds like your electronic control module is going bad
PCV Valve...?
Do you have a check engine code? Have you had it tuned? Sounds like the idle is off, but need more information.
Sounds like it's getting all air and no gas.
sounds like your distributer is getting moisture in it
it sounds like ur clutch went out in it.
sounds like the idle (the speed at which the pistons in the engine are moving when it is just sitting there) may be set too low.
It sounds like your engine is not getting enough fuel.
Your Chevrolet Cavalier 97 might stall when going downhill because it has a bad fuel filter. It could also be the spark plugs misfiring.
