That could depend on the cause of kidney failure. But some signs to look for would be lack of appetite, lethargy, and possibly more aggressive. Also, you can often tell by the look in their eyes, just as you can people, for indications of pain. But there are many medications available from your vet to control the pain, and keep your cat much more comfortable.
