Your dogs tongue turned white this morning and his saliva is foamy his lower jaw seems to be paralyzed what would cause this other than that he is acting fine?

I wish I had the answer. My 2.5 year old female pitbull terrier woke that way yesterday. Our local vet has referred us to a neurologist, and we are going tomorrow. Hope to have some answers.
