yes and no. it really depends on the vehicle. on most you can cut the two wires going to the door jam switch and simple tape them off. the switches are usually pretty cheap and not that hard to replace so if you are going to go far enough to cut the wires from it you might as well change the stitch. on some of the newer vehicles the have incorporated the door ajar switch into the door latch, in that case you cant simply jerry rig it to stop. you'd have to change the door latch.

When why open my Chrysler 300 door with key and the alarm goes off I immediately put key in the ignition and turn car on, the alarm quits instantly
When I activate my car alarm, then return to deactivate it the alarm deactivates the door unlocks but when I open the door the alarm goes off and does not go off when I use the remote. Ater about 3 to 4 minutes of trying it finally goes off and I can then start my car. Is the batter need replacing in the remote or a fuse needs change? Does the alarm need servicing?
There could be a problem with the wiring in your Lesabre alarm system. The sensor may be too sensitive or the wires may be crossed.
You break into your own car and see if an alarm goes off. Remain in vehicle and try locking all doors with remote or electric door lock switch Then try unlocking door with manual release and open door - alarm should sound off
I had the same problem with my 98 cadillac catera. I was told to manually open the door with the key and it should should off. Mine works on occasion. So when you go to open your door and the alarm goes off shut the door lock it and then unlock it manually again.

when you hook up the battery and the alarm goes off hit the unlock button on your door lock remote.
If the issue is simply having the alarm go off on the vehicle after locking it, then wanting it to stop making all that noise, it's fairly simple. The alarm is readied when you use the power lock to lock the car, then armed once you close the door. After that, if either door or the back hatch is opened, the alarm goes off. You can turn off the alarm by turning the door key in either door from the outside.
If your 97 Nissan Maxima's alarm is like mine, put your key in the driver's side door and "unlock" the car. The alarm will only go off if the other three doors have been locked (driver's side door remains unlocked) and you have closed the door and left the car alone for 30 seconds or more. Then when the driver's side door is opened again the alarm goes off.
Are you using the key or the remote? If the key, you may be not turning off the alarm so it goes off.the door is already unlocked i just open the door and the horn starts blowing removed horn fuse
Try turning your key in drivers door to unlock, should reset the alarm
