First of all, try to pour some carb cleaner down the carb intake. Make sure all cables to/from carb are well lubricated, too, then do a carburetor tune up. Quadrajets were known to be finnicky, this may be part of it. If that does not help, you may wish to run compression checks, or other methods of getting the engine completely checked out.
rochester quadrajet 4mc is a 4 bbl carb with electronic Mixture Control and was used many years in the late 80's and early 90's until fuel injection became more popular
A 1980 engine wouldn't have an ECM... I'm pretty sure they didn't go electronic until ~1987 when they introduced Throttle Body Injection.
sounds like the choke is sticking on
NO YOU CANNOT DONT TRY IT!!!!If you do,the intrepid will run great for about um....an hour, then it will fall apart.its like putting reg. gas in a weedeater, good running until it burns out the engine.
It works great! At speeds under 30 MPH the gasoline engine does not run until the main battery needs a charge. Battery is also charged by regeneration from the wheels.
A good default setting is 1.5 turns. After that you can continue to turn them out with a rpm gauge connected. Then gauge needs to be accurate. Some timing lights will show rpm. Turn each one out separately until max rpm is reached. Ideally a exhaust gas analyzer is best to use as it will take into effect engine wear.
It will keep running until the engine is destroyed if that is what you are asking. It will keep running until the engine is destroyed if that is what you are asking.
No. It will keep running until the engine is completely destroyed.No. It will keep running until the engine is completely destroyed.
They are all great until they break down.
Until you turn off the engine...
About four days ago, I had my engine replace in my 2001 Lexus 300. It ran very well until the last two. When the engine is cold it stalls. I will restart but I have to keep my foot on the gas paddle. If I remove my foot it stalls until the car runs for about two or three minute then it's O.K. and run great. What wrong with my car?
You need to put oil in your Engine!! Do not use youe vehicle until you do as you maybe fitting a new Engine!!!!
