If the keyless entry works on your other dooor(s) then electric lock motor may have failed. If it doesn't work on ANY doors, then the battery in the keyless remote has probably gone dead. If it is the electric motor, it is your decision if youwant to spend the money to repair it, or just get used to using the key to manually lock/unlock it.
We had a 1999 and now have a 2003, neither of our keys have ever unlocked the hatch, not something we bother with so never found out.
If it doesn't have a keypad on the door, it definitely doesn't have RKE, if there is a keypad chances are good its got it, and if not an RKE transciever from a junkyard tied into the existing wiring will do the trick Since the trunk also may be released by the remote keyfob....open the trunk and look at the interior hatch latch....if it has a wiring harness going in to the latch assembly....it probably will respond to a remote keyless entry
try replacing the ignition switch. that happened to me and i bought an oem ignition switch on eBay for 17.99 the dealer wanted 71.00. when it came the both were exactly the same oem part & part number
Yes.
If the rear hatch on a 1997 Honda Passport will not open with the remote cable, it can still be opened from the outside. After opening from the outside, repair the cable.

These codes are often inside the trunk of the car, under the hood, or under the inside edge of the back hatch. Look for a white sticker with a number; that may be the code you are looking for. If you don't find it there, then contact you local Ford dealer, who should be able to help.
It is a 4 door vehicle with a rear hatch.
First unlock and open the hatch, the horn alarm is now disarmed and you can unlock the driver side door.
You can: -Open the drivers door and press "unlock" -Have a keyless entry system installed at a Best Buy or similar car audio shop. All of the locks (including the rear hatch) are on a central locking system and they will all lock or unlock together.
Right side of the car, in the rear seat area, just behind the rear speaker inside the trim panel. You have to remove the interior trim from the back of the hatch moving forward. Three big pieces total. The amp is a silver box. It is mounted alongside of the keyless entry system.
