When the oil pressure is an issue, it is better to be safer than sorry. Specially if the vehicle "runs rough", as this is indicative of an actual problem not merely a gauge problem. Turn the vehicle off! At this stage, if you don't normally work on your own vehicle and are not confident in your abilities get a mechanic to tow the vehicle in and have a look at it. It's going to cost you, but it's probably going to cost you less than a whole new engine! You don't want to throw away your engine when it could be a minor pump fault. If you normally work on your own vehicle, and are prepared to take the risk, Try replacing the oil filter and check the oil for dirt. If it is dirty, replace the oil. Start the engine again, but don't rev it, just keep it low idling. Try an in oil addative that cleans, but don't run the engine for extended periods and use only as directed. you can purchase these from a spares shop. If it does the same switch off. Pull out the oil pump and clean it in a containner of lacquer thinners, diezel, parrafin or petroleum. Check for blocked ports and broken parts. Replce if necessary. Reinnstall the oil pump and try again. Let the oil crculte back into the system and if it carries on, shut down again. If the problem persists, take the vehicle in and let a mechanic take the risk of blowing the engine. Theyr'e professionsals and probably won't.
