Your parents are divorcing what do you do?

My parents have gotten a divorce, and it's not easy at all. Trust me. For a while, i felt stuck in the middle when my parents argued over holidays. I would rather live with my mother but my dad still got me on weekends. that was many years ago. I don't know if your having as much trouble as i did but i do not see my dad anymore. He was a drunk and i didn't really talk to him because he was always involved with something else. I finally got the guts to say i didn't want to go on his weekends anymore. He got angry and stopped paying child support. The law got involved. he was forced to pay which made him dislike me more. then he and his mother disowned me. He got remarried and i never have liked my step-mother. but i delt with it. I have dealt with a lot as you might have too. If they fight over holidays, tell them how you feel. Don't just sit there letting your emotions toy with you and let them brew as you sit there hating your life. do something. Act upon it. You can realize that you are a strong person and can do it. Talk to them. I held it all inside of me and it led to hating my life and I spiraled down into many depressions. Don't make the mistake I did. it would only lead to hating everything about life. I learned from my mistake and I am now involved more and found some really great friends that i know will be there for life. Not all of us can have a perfect life, but we can still make the best of what we got. And if your thinking for one second that it's your fault, then DON'T. If they are getting a divorce then it's been coming for a while now. Families just don't crumble in one day. It's been waiting. and it's not YOU it's THEM. they don't realize that they are making their child's life turn into ashes right before their eyes. Remember that.

Now if your older and over 18, its still not easy but you have one more advantage then kids do as i had to deal with. You can still help out and try to fix it. don't get too involved cause they might know your getting involved. That doesn't mean you shouldn't..it just means not to get into ALL their business. Remind them of why they fell in love in the first place and if you can see it's what's best for the family, then maybe that's the way God wants it to go. Whatever happens, God will make it work out. Just don't think it's your fault that your parents are getting a divorce. it's not. Its them. as i have said before.
