It is very simple. Give him 3mg of Melatonin a couple of hours before his bedtime. It is natural and sold with the vitamins. This is a chemical your body produces naturally to help you sleep. Most ADHD children use this to help promote sleep. Good Luck.
You could also try giving him 1mg of Melatonin about 30min before his bedtime. Its less drugs in the end, even though Melatonin is natural.

The recommanded dosage is always the lowest working dose. If 18mg allows good results, then it is the correct dosage. Nope, that's what I was prescribed originally... With a 10mg Ritalin "booster." Yes 54mg of Concerta is too much for the initial dose. Over 6 years the recommended initial dose is 18mg once daily in the morning, increased if necessary in weekly steps of 18mg according to response to a maximum dose of 54mg daily. What happens if a teen take two 18mg pills of Concerta?
There is a 54 mg prescription for concerta. Presumably, some people can tolerate this much medication. These people are probably larger people who are otherwise more resistant to the drug's effects, causing them to need a larger dosage. At some point, depending on the person's physiology, mass and tolerance, I imagine that the taker would become very ill. Concerta is powerful stuff.

Can you take Concerta and weed?
omg yes. took 3 18mg concertas before smoking weed and it intensified my high so much. it was a good intensity though cause i was at school. having concerta with the weed made me much higher while making me focus on schoolwork and such. it also decreases munchies. it was good. -------------------------------------------------------------- I'm no doctor or chemist, but generally weed can be taken with anything. There are several things that are lethal when mixed with alcohol, but this is not the case with weed. I'm sure that weed would either amplify or mellow out your experience. Also, I'm not sure whether you have a prescription to the concerta or if something you are using for recreational purposes. --------------------------------------------- I am ADHD and I was a pothead. Weed supposed to mellow you down and Ritaline(Concerta) supposed to wake you up and keep you alert. My doctor have warned me many times NOT to do both and there may cause issues to your body. Despite that, why would you want to mix a downer with an "upper"? EG, it is a waste of money to do coke and weed at the same time don't you think? I don't do any more drugs including Weed. Concerta is all I need to treat my ADHD issue. But if anyone is having trouble focus to read or to do anything constructive to their lives, I highly recommend these people to do a ADHD check. Why would you want to get high if there is a drug that helps you become a better person? There is no reason to abuse it. Weed really dont do much to me except it knocks me out at night and I love the taste of it. Concerta is my perfect drug. Nothing else for now

Yes it is safe. My younger brother has ADHD and Asperger's Sydrome and he takes Concerta and Risperdal every morning. I would still recommend asking your doctor if it is safe for HER to use, as medications have different effects on different people. I know this sounds like a Scientologist. But my neighbor's mom told his psychitrist to prescribe him something because she thought he had a problem. He just wrote a ticket for Resperidal without and hesitation. I am glad he didn't take it, it is schizophrenic medication. I am sure what ever your daughter has is much, much better than any single side effect from Risperdal. Please don't let her take it, you will lose your daughter.
What can help ADD people sleep?
Lower your dose of medication. If that doesnt work, you probly dont have really bad adhd. Having horrible and newly discovered adult adhd, I have been on concerta, adderall and vyvnase. I started at 18mg concerta and wasnt satisfied with my focus until I got bumped up to 70mg Vyvanse. I take 70mg everyday and i am able to take naps throughout the day, and go to bed normally. Through my experience, being a college student, i have seen people (who are not prescribed) take 30mg aderall to study and not be able to sleep for 2-3 days. If this is the case for you, you dont need it. If you have bad adhd you could take a 30mg Aderall or a 70mg Vyvanse at 7am and be yawning by 12pm. Even the first time i ever took aderall, i was able to sleep normally, which is how i actually discovered i had adhd. Adhd meds can help anyone focus, but theyre meant to help the people who cant focus without them
