Probably a defective speed sensor in the trans.
95 mitsubishi montero sr wont shift to overdrive why
93 tranny is electronic if your speedo isn't working it won't shift into 3 or OD. Your speed sensor is more than likely the problem.
A bad A/T Control Relay switch may be the reason your light is blinking on the N of the shift gear in your Mitsubishi Montero Sport. The part will need to be ordered from the dealership to fix it.
Shift it on 2H, then "REVERSE" for about 10 to 15 Feet....
The 91 and newer car you fill though the speedo cable
switch or possible shift solenoid problem
More than likely, its your input and output speed sensor, If your speedo does not work, I can guarantee that is your problem..
I think you are referring to a shift solenoid on a car. If so, this sends signals to the transmission computer to tell it when to shift gears either higher or lower depending on demand such as going uphill, passing or reaching cruise speed.
It sounds like the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is going.
That all depends on when it revs. It could be your cruise switch. If you have a manual transmission, don't use cruise until you're in high gear. If you resume and try to shift, the cruise will rev the engine even when you clutch.
code 15 is the ignition output signal see chapter 5.....the blinking s is the sport shift light controlled by your speed sensor.... if u have a tech manual us it to clear all codes the retrieve the codes again.. the speed sensor controls your speedo ,cruise control, and costs about 60 bones at www.1aauto.com
if the speedo is also not working it could be a vss problem or an issue with the gear or square shaft where speedometer hooks to tranny/ if speedo works just no overdrive there is a temp sensor on the tranny that can keep od from working or may be wiring issue with factory od on/off switch
