In Windows 7, the UIODetect process is a mitigation that detects if a service is trying to interact with the desktop. This process is set to manually so it will not start automatically when the operating system boots.
Suspect a hard dive fault. Run a hard drive 'check and repair' program ..... this will attempt to find any damaged sectors and repair them. It will do no harm to try!
Set the primary partition containing Windows XP to active
It all depends on what OS (Operating System) you are running. on a normal windows install without any form of Mac,Linux or Unix OS`s installed it would just go to the bios screen and then right after that the splash screen would show up and then go right too the windows logon screen. Right now on my box I have Windows Vista and Ubuntu and on a typical boot sequence on my box First I have the (basic input/output system (BIOS) screen then i have a GRUB (GRand Unified Bootloader) screen pop up after that and it gives me a selection too choose from of all the OS`s I have installed on my box then I either let if load Ubuntu by default or choose windows. after I select one and press enter it gos to the splash screen which is basically a moving bar then after the splash screen you have the logon screen and after that you most likely know the rest.
When I boot up my steam games they don't do up. when I try to re-open them the screen goes black for 2 seconds and the audio plays, but then it boots me back down to my desktop. Help Please!
If performance improves when you start the system in Safe Mode, you can assume that nonessential startup programs are slowing down the system when Windows boots normally. But, if the performance does not improve, you can assume that the problem is with a hardware device, a critical driver, or a Windows component.
My pavilion ze4900 boots to the welcome screen, but no further. I can boot all the way into safemode though. how can I fix this problem?
There is no scientific measurement for how "fast" an operating system is. You can only compare things like: 1. How fast an operating system boots. The fastest booting desktop distro is probably Mach Boot. 2. How much or how little RAM / processor power the system needs to run. The desktop distro with the lowest system requirements is probably Damn Small Linux. 3. How little space it requires. Tiny Core Linux requires only 10 MB for a very basic desktop system 4. The desktop that can best take advantage of hardware, such as video cards. Foresight Linux is designed to show off the latest Linux desktop environments, all with flashy effects and stuff.
I would rather get a thirty two inch flat screen television over a snowboard with bindings and boots.
