There are various Zelda games which contain a shovel as an obtainable item, and others where there is no shovel but another digging function. As this is in the Twilight Princess and Spirit Tracks categories, I will address these titles and place a link to Zelda Wiki's "Shovel" article for those seeking more information.
In Twilight Princess, there is no shovel but Link's wolf form can be used to dig up "digging spots" which appear as black "sparkling" areas in Link's "wolf sense" view.
In Spirit Tracks, there is also no shovel, but there is a Flute song called the "Song of Discovery" which can bring up hidden items in some instances.

∙ 13y agoTo get the shovel, go to the place where the boy is playing the flute, but in the Dark World. Tal to him, and he will give you the shovel, until you find the flute.
