It depends which python you mean. The scientific name for the group they belong to is Pythonidae. Some individual species are Python sebae (African Rock Python), Python regius(Royal python) & Python molurus (Burmese python)
All snakes have there own distinct scientific name. For instance, the western diamondback in referred to as crotalus atrox. The black mamba is Dendroaspis polylepis. Most rattlesnakes belong to the crotalus family i.e. eastern diamondback is crotalus adamanteus and the Mojave rattlesnake is crotalus scrutulatus this is a sub-species, all snakes belong to the reptilia class and the serpentes sub-order.

Hi. As far as as I know here is no general scientific name for snakes. Most snakes have an individual Latin name for example elaphae guttatta which is the scientific name for a corn snake and Python molurus bivittatus a burmese python
