i would go to the local housing authority and try to get a Section 8 voucher. Also there are plenty of multi family section 8 properties that strictly limit their residents to seniors 62 and over. Go to HUD.gov and find section 202 housing (202 means elderly). you can get a listing of all the multifamily 202 properties from the HUD office as well.
