Ashford University is a liberal arts college that was founded in 1891. It was actually founded by nuns named the Sisters of St. Francis who were invited by Father James A. Murray to teach in Clinton, Iowa. Two years later, the nuns were able to purchase their first building for the school and named it the Mount St. Clare Academy. In 1910, they moved Mount St. Clare Academy to a larger building that is still in use in the Ashford University to this day.

From these humble beginnings, the school continued to expand throughout the 20th century, transforming into a very prestigious liberal arts college. The school first received its accreditation in 1950 from the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools is an accreditation agency that has accredited over 10,000 schools in the Midwestern United States and is recognized by the US Board of Education.

Due to this accreditation, the school continued to expand exponentially. In 2005, it was renamed Ashford University after the institution was acquired by Bridgepoint Education, Inc. After the sale, the Sisters of St. Francis ceased their sponsorship of the school. However, the school survives as a vibrant and prestigious liberal arts university with over 25,000 students.

The school offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in a number of diverse fields. Popular Bachelor’s degrees offered include degrees in accounting, Biology, elementary education, history, social and criminal justice, Social Sciences, and nuclear medicine technology. Popular Master’s degrees offered include degrees in business administration, education, healthcare administration, organizational management, and public administration.

However, you don’t have to complete your academic program in Clinton, Iowa. In 2002, the school expanded to include a distance learning program using the internet. You can in fact obtain many of the same degrees online that you can obtain at the physical campus in Iowa.

If you are looking for an opportunity to obtain a great college education, one school you should certainly consider is Ashford University.

Ashworth College is a university headquartered in Norcross, Georgia. Its parent company, Professional Career Development Institute, was founded in 1987.

Ashworth College does not have actual physical classrooms. It instead implements distance learning. Some of Ashworth’s students take classes through textbooks, supplements, and other class materials sent through the mail. Other programs are completed using online materials only, and a number of the school’s programs implement both mailed and online materials together.

Ashworth College is fully accredited by the Distance Education Training Council or DETC for short. The DETC is recognized by the US Department of Education as the national agency in the United States that grants accreditation to distance learning universities. As a result of this accreditation, the school offers a number of associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in several different fields.

The school’s business programs are especially popular. Degrees offered include bachelor’s degrees in business administration, e-business, and management. Business master’s degrees offered include degrees in business administration, international business, and management. Other bachelor’s degrees offered at the school include degrees in construction management, criminal justice, early childhood education, and marketing.

In addition to the school’s degree programs, the university offers a plethora of non-degree diplomas and certifications in fields such as accounting, business, construction, finance, forensic science, graphic design, medical transcription, paralegal studies, psychology, and web design.

In addition to college degrees, diplomas, and certifications, the school also offers high school diplomas. High school diplomas can be attained through Ashworth College High School, which was formerly James Madison High School. The high school is regionally accredited through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools or SACS for short.

Ashworth College offers a number of possible advantages for students over more traditional universities. First, the lack of physical classroom space allows students to save on travel and living expenses. Money is also saved by the fact that the price of textbooks and study materials is included in the price of tuition. Due to the design of its academic programs, students are also allowed to complete the programs at their own pace.

Ashworth College certainly offers a number of quality academic programs that can be completed in a less expensive and stressful manner than would be possible in a traditional university.

Is Ashworth University a scam?

There appears to be too much inconsistency in what different organizations are saying about the institution. The College Board makes no reference as to the accreditation of the institution, while answers.com indicates it has a regional accreditation. The College Board site also states the school is a two year institution, but yet also states the school offers an associates, bachelors, and masters degree. I would recommend you search for a college or university with more of a stable history, rather than have the possibility of future problems. Make sure whichever institution you choose, that the school has a regional accreditation.Ashworth College:I did intense research on the Ashworth University (now Ashworth College) in 2006 to 2007.
