The best laptops on the market today have new batteries, however, that are designed to prevent this. It is now just a myth. If you have a computer that was made in the last five years, do not worry about the memory aspect.

I don't know which Blackberry you have, but I have a Storm and the memory card is in the same area as the battery case. Open the battery case and you can clearly see it. I had a Pearl and it was under the battery.
