Located in the Southern Tier region of New York state along the Pennsylvania Border, Binghamton is a vibrant for a city that has a population of about 50,000 residents. For most New Yorkers, the city is best known for Binghamton University, which has an enrollment of more than 15,000 students. However, Binghamton offers much more than just excellent and affordable higher education.

Binghamton is most accessible by car via roads such as I-81, I-86, and I-88. There are also intercity bus services available such as Greyhound. Unfortunately, there isn’t any rail or commercial flight service into the city. However, there is a small general aviation airport.

Binghamton offers plenty for nature, art, and science lovers. The Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park and Cutler Botanic Garden allow visitors to explore diverse wildlife and plants. Housed in the historic Robertson Mansion, The Roberson Museum and Science Center features permanent exhibits about local history and aviation. The Bundy Arts and Victorian Museum has a collection of international art and local artifacts such as clocks and vintage media.

The Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena offers diverse entertainment in an indoor venue with a seating capacity of nearly 7,000. The arena is also home to professional hockey team Senators, which competes in the AHL.

These major attractions are the highlights of Binghamton, but the downtown area such as Main Street features plenty more to explore including fine dinning, shopping, and nightlife.
