cc Credit Rejection Notice Based on Credit Agency Report
Credit Reporting Agency, Request for ReportReview List
This review list is provided to inform you about this document in question and assist you in its preparation. You are entitled by law to a free credit report from the agency or agencies used by a creditor that turns you down for credit, as long as you request the report within 30 days of rejection. Therefore, your best response to a turndown is to write immediately to the credit-reporting agency and get a copy of the credit report.
There are three major credit agencies and they are listed on the above letter in a “cc” format so you can send the request to all three at the same time. These agencies change their policies from time to time. On occasion, one or more of them have made it a standard practice to send a consumer a free report if requested no more than once a year. Therefore, you are advised to try for the report for free. If you must pay for it, the charge will be $15 or less.
Credit reporting has become increasingly accurate over the last decade as computer systems have become more powerful and the data entered and updated, more accurate. Nevertheless, you are advised to get a copy of your report so you can dispute any bad credit reports that are false. This approach can only help your situation and in no way damage it.
Note: If you want a report, and were not turned down, simply write or call for a report and ask them to bill your credit card for the charges.
If you have been turned down for credit recently you are entitled by law to get a free credit report from the credit reporting agency that supplied the information. Call or write the agency to make your request.
Each credit reporting agency has their own form to request a credit report which you can find on their website. Each person is entitled to at least 1 free credit report per year per agency with some states allowing more. The Federal Trade Commission offers free forms to request a credit report.
Contact the credit reporting agency from where you got the report. They have the contact information and can provide that to you upon request.
Obtaining a free online instant credit report can be pretty difficult. The Fair Credit Reporting Act states that EVERYONE is entitled to one free copy of their credit report. You can request one from your bank or any online credit reporting agency.
Never pay for a credit history report. It is now possible to obtain a free credit report from each of the three credit reporting agencies once a year. Be smart and request a free report from each agency every four months so that you can stay current year round. Also, if you ever apply for credit and are turned down, you may request a free credit report from the credit reporting agency the credit check was obtained from. Credit reporting agencies also offer reports during their free trial memberships. Simply cancel your membership before you are obligated to pay anything.
Any lendor or lending institution.
Whenever you submit a credit report dispute, the credit reporting agency has as much as 45 days from receiving your dispute to do an analysis. The credit reporting agency generally will get 30 days to research your dispute, but when you signal more details inside the 30-day window, the credit reporting agency will get yet another 15 days, getting the total to 45. Once the credit reporting agency has got the outcomes of the analysis, the agency should inform you about the results within 5 working days.
Debts included in the bankruptcy should be noted as such in the credit report. The bankruptcy will remain on the credit report for ten years.
File a consumer dispute with the credit reporting agency. You can do that online as each reporting agency has it's own website.
If I were a small biz... I would go to Google and search for Experian, Trans-Union, and whatever that other credit reporting agency is, or just search for credit reporting agencies, go to their websites and look for info on how to report.
File a dispute with the credit reporting agency.
By federal mandate, the credit reporting agency must NOT report you to the credit bureaus until 30 days past the date of the letter sent to you.
