One major question that comes from many college graduates is how much a GPA matters when it comes to getting a job in the real world. The answer varies based on field and end goal. For education related jobs or getting into grad school GPA does matter, however when it comes to most fields a person’s grade point average just is not very important compared to a host of other factors when it comes to getting a job.
There are several reasons for this. One is that whether this is right or wrong, there is a perception that there is a lot of grade inflation going on in colleges to make their students competitive with other schools. Because of this, many employers seem to believe that a grade like an A just isn’t as special as it used to be, especially when it seems like a lot more people are getting higher grades.
Another reason is practicality. Even if a college graduate has the perfect degree in the perfect field for the job that he or she is applying for, chances are very high that the person will require additional real world training to be able to do the job well. Sometimes a high GPA is a sign of someone who must spend hours learning new procedures or structures while it’s not uncommon for people who pick up on something quickly to be content with that and take the B. In the real world adaptability is more important, and 4.0 GPA students often lack that ability.
The next reason GPA is not important in many fields is that experience is the main factor in hiring. A student with a 2.5 GPA who spent three summers in college working on internships or summer time jobs in their field and has rave reviews looks like a much better candidate than another student with a 4.0 GPA, the same degree, but no experience. The first graduate is going to be far more capable of working well and doing the job from day one than the higher GPA graduate who is still looking for an entry level job.
This combination of factors is a major reason why in most fields GPA is not very important to getting a job.
Because you can get a great job and make great money.
If you are thinking about future job interviews what matters more and is more important is your cumulative GPA (CGPA) not your major GPA (MGPA)even for business students.

You can't really raise a GPA. But it is a very good improvement! A 3.4 GPA is a B average while a 1.5 GPA is at a D average (Ouch!). Good job on your improvement, (if you did) or if that is just your goal, I wish you the best of luck on your journey to a 3.4 GPA!
Yes, a GPA of 3.0 = a B average which is considered good. Your GPA of 3.14 is slightly better. Great job!!
