This makes it California's fifth largest city and the Bay area's fourth most populous city. Fremont is also the sister city to Puerto Penasco, Mexico; Fukaya, Japan; Lipa City, Phillipines; and Jaipur, India.
Fremont has many attractions. For children, Fremont's own waterpark, Aqua Adventure, is very popular. For art enthusiasts, Fremont is home to many art galleries, including the Nova Gallery of Fine Art on Osgood Rd, and the Olive Hyde Art Gallery on Washington Blvd. The Olive Hyde Art Gallery prides itself on offering the community an array of both contemporary and traditional artwork. For example, their latest exhibit is a collection of Looney Toon animations. Film lovers will enjoy spending time at Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum and Edision Theater, and history buffs will enjoy Fremont's Museum of Local History, and may also enjoy visiting the Ardenwood Historic Farm (also home of the Patterson House). The Ardenwood Historic Farm is a fully functioning 1890's farm that is perserved in modern day California. Visitors can join in performing old fashioned chores, ride a horse drawn railroad, and tour the fully restored Victorian farmhouse. This city is also home to the Fremont Symphony Orchestra.
Golfers will enjoy Fremont Park, a 92 hole, par 32 course. Fremont Park is great for any golfer, and offers a challenge no matter what skill level you play at. Fremont Park offers gorgeous scenery. Central Park and Lake Elizabeth follow along one side of the course, while the Fremont Hills run along the other side.
