Heald College has a long history, dating back to 1863. The first college was founded in San Francisco, California, and is known as the first business college in the western United States. Since then, hundreds of thousands of

students have benefited from a Heald College education.

Heald College’s mission is to prepare students for careers with a focus on practical, hands-on learning. Once known as a business school, the college’s programs have been expanded to include technology, health care and legal degrees. The philosophy is that the college’s success is based on the success of the students. Students learn ethics, responsibility, literature and culture. They develop communication skills, confidence, teamwork skills and leadership abilities, skills that are important in any professional career. The faculty consists of instructors with real-life experiences and strong educational backgrounds. The campuses have a community feel to them, and are filled with positive, supportive people with similar goals.

Heald College has campuses throughout California, and one each in Oregon and Hawaii. No online classes are available, as the campus focuses on hands-on experience that can only be taught in classrooms. The college offers

associate’s degrees and certificates in four programs: health care, business, legal and technology. The health care program offers study in medical assisting, billing, coding, dental assisting and pharmacy. The business program offers study in accounting, construction management, office skills, hospitality, tourism, sales and marketing. The legal program offers study as a paralegal and in the criminal justice field. The technology field includes study in network security and electronics technology.

Heald College is unique in that it not only helps graduates find work right after graduation, it also offers lifetime career services and job placement - from graduation to retirement. Students work with an advisor who will help them find work and present themselves professionally.

Tuition may vary, depending on program type and location, but the total cost of a Heald College education will run between $12,000 and $15,000. Financial aid is available to those who qualify, with most students using loans or grants to pay for their study.
