Electric bills vary from home to home and family to family for many reasons. The first variable is the size of the home. A small, studio apartment is going to cost less to keep powered than a large three or four bedroom home. The age of the home should also be taken into consideration, because older homes tend to be a lot more drafty which is more difficult to keep the same temperature--leading to high bills. A small apartment with reasonable electricity usage should expect to pay about $50 or $60 per month. A larger home should expect closer to $200.
