3.Take up a regular weight-bearing exercise routine like brisk walking. Non weight-bearing exercises like swimming, while good for your overall fitness, are not as helpful for osteoporosis.

4.Avoid the known risk factors that you have control over like smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.

5.Take a multiple vitamin with a good amount of vitamin C. Vitamins deficiencies can lead to osteoporosis.
