If you want a dog that is less time consuming, you may want to consider a breed that has short hair. They typically require almost no grooming. The breeds with the longer coats normally need to be shaved and bathed on a regular basis.
If you are looking for a guard dog, any breed will do. If you are looking for a dog to intimidate the intruder, a Rottweiler or bull mastiff may suffice. If you are looking for a dog to make a noise in general if there is an intruder, any breed will do. There are many important factors when choosing a dog breed that will fit you and your family.
