Step 1. To determine the amount of bamboo flooring that you need, you will need to measure the room that you want to use the bamboo flooring in. You should add an additional 10 percent for any accidents that may occur.
Step 2. Empty out the room. You will need to remove molding around the floor, baseboards, heat registers and closet and entrance doors if they sit closely to the floor with no clearance.
Step 3. The under laying surface for the new flooring must be prepared. You can do this by screwing any loose floorboards into the underlying floor joists and fill in seams that you may have with the leveling compound.
Step 4. Spread the bamboo flooring around the room in small piles so that the flooring is exposed to the air.
Step 5. Allow three days for the bamboo boards to acclimate.
Step 6. You will need to decide which way you want your flooring to run. If you have a long room, you will want the bamboo flooring to run the length of the room. If you have large windows in a room you may want to have the flooring to run parallel to the sunshine.
Step 7. Measure the width of your room to determine how many full boards will fit into the area and how much space you need to cover with partial boards. You will need to divide the remaining space by 2 when figuring the width of the partial boards.
Step 8. Lay your underlay out in strips, butting them next to each other, but not overlapping them. The under laying is used to soften the bamboo flooring and to help reduce any annoying noises that may occur.
Step 9. Using the manufacturer’s instructions for installing your bamboo flooring, you will need to nail the first tow rows, through the bottom of the interlocking groove on the panels and setting the nails. Use a hardwood hammer for additional rows. Use ring shank nails, spacing them eight to ten inches apart.
Step 10. You will need to offset the seams between each row. You can do this by using the remaining board cut from the last board used in a row to start the next row.
Step 11. Do not rush your job. Examine each row as you install it. Make sure that everything is working as you want it to. It is easier to fix a problem when it happens instead of when the job is done.

The reason for this is that the hardwood is very firm and has little room for adjustment. An excellent tile installer can adjust the height of the tile to be flush and level with the hardwood floor with little or no seem. When its done it looks beautiful.
