We’ve all seen the amazing magic tricks street magicians and TV magicians perform, but wouldn’t it be great if we could perform them ourselves and impress our friends? Most magic tricks are simple sleight-of-hand that anyone, with a little practice, can perform. So, get ready to impress everyone.
-Step 1: Choose a trick
Pick something easy if this is your first time. Even the easiest of tricks can look very good if you do them well. Really look for something that no one would have seen.
-Step 2: Practice, practice, practice
Practice is the key here. You can never have enough practice. Even if you think you have it done perfectly, more practice will not go amiss. Practice for several months before showing anyone else, to make sure you get it right every time.
-Step 2: Do it for family
Show your brother or you mom first, so you get the idea of how you will feel doing the trick in front of people.
-Step 4: Invite some friends over
You don’t need to tell them you are doing a magic trick, just invite them over, for a drink or something (but don’t drink first) and then perform your magic trick for them.
-Step 5: Keep the audience entertained
If the audience is watching you too closely, they will see your sleight of hand, so keep them entertained with distracting hand movements and talk. Sleight of hand will only work if they are not playing close scrutiny to the hand doing the trick, so distraction is a good idea.
-Step 6: Don’t be discouraged
So the first time you did the trick in front of anyone, you got so nervous you dropped everything. Don’t be discouraged. You aren’t a professional magician, and it is going to take time.
If you work hard, practice hard and continually build a repertoire of tricks, you will find that sleight of hand will become easier and people will be impressed. Your friends may laugh when you start out and make mistakes, but soon even they will be impressed.
