Why you cant change your start page in ie?
'go to IE. click on tools, click on Internet Options. Once the window opens you will see the home page option. There you can set your start page to whatever you like then click "apply" at the bottom of the window to set your new start page.

Had this problem off and on for years. Finally switched to Mozilla Firefox for my browser. All prior problems of IE gone - Firefox has twice the security that IE has, and less than one-tenth of 1% the problems of IE. I'll never ever return to IE.
