General Overview

Moline, located in northern Illinois is part of the Quad Cities. Only 165 miles from Chicago, you will find Moline sitting on a bluff next to the Mississippi River. Historically speaking, Moline has a rich background in Indian tribes who established their villages along the river. After the Indians moved on, settlers moved into the area and brought with them the beginnings of businesses that made Moline what it is today. The main business that was brought to Moline was John Deere, which grew in operations in the agricultural world. Today, most of John Deere has been moved out of Moline but that hasn’t stopped the city from trying to encourage growth of their city and riverfront.
