Smoking causes the build up of fatty acids in the arteries, commonly known as atherosclerosis. An excess of fatty build up in the arteries can lead to Heart disease or a heart attack. Smokers are nearly twice as likely to have a heart attack as non-smokers. Smoking can also increase blood pressure and significantly increase the risk of Diabetes. In order to have a healthy heart and live a long life, smoking is a habit that needs to be kicked.
