In today’s classroom, it is important to have a variety of classroom jobs so that learners are able to get hands-on training with being responsible and have a sense of purpose beyond academics in the classroom. There are three must-have classroom jobs that teachers should consider to address the diverse needs in the classroom. These three classroom jobs are the following:
1.
Classroom Librarian:
The classroom librarian is responsible for making sure that the books are in proper order and are accounted for. Depending on the size of the classroom library, the teacher may decide to add additional library positions such as classroom library aide. That way, the classroom librarian can focus on a specific set of responsibilities and delegate other tasks to the library aides who may have additional time to dedicate to the classroom library.
2.
Classroom Pet Manager:
Depending on whether the teacher has decided to have a classroom pet, it will become imperative to have a classroom pet manager to make sure that the pet has been fed and the area has been cleaned. When students have demonstrated that they are responsible, the teacher may decide to have a rotating schedule in place to allow the classroom pet to go home with a responsible learner. In such a case, the classroom pet manager will make sure that he or she clearly communicates how to care and feed the classroom pet, especially if the classmate has not had a great deal of experience with the classroom pet.
3.
Classroom Networking Specialist:
It’s a given that students love to chat away with their peers. The classroom teacher can actually design a classroom job that is centered on providing buddy support to new classmates. Not only will this help the new student, but it will help the networking specialist to build communication skills and learn how to lead their peers. This particular job can help diffuse any disagreements amongst classmates because they will have a buddy support system that will foster positive working relationships in the classroom.
The bottom line is that classroom jobs make the classroom run much efficient while still providing students with real-world learning experiences that will help them grow both academically and personally.
There are a wide range of jobs available including out of classroom teaching jobs, school nurse positions, Administrative jobs, early child education and many more.

Every elementary teacher knows the value of having a classroom library. Just like with any of type of classroom project, there is a need to have helped manage it. This is where classroom jobs can come in handy, especially a classroom librarian and library aide. There are three reasons why a classroom librarian is important, which are the following:Keeping Track of the Book InventoryThe first reason is to track the book inventory. If there is a great deal of books in the classroom library, then it is necessary to perform inventory each week. This can easily be done if the library aide is able to ensure that each classmate write down the correct book that he or she is checking out and provide a written signature to be held responsible for that particular book. After this weekly book inventory has been performed, then the library aide will provide this information to the classroom librarian to make further decisions with the teacher.Marketing the Classroom LibraryThe second reason why a classroom librarian is important is because of the need to market the classroom library. The classroom librarian has the knowledge about all of the books that are located in the classroom library. This comes in handy because he or she is able to share the book titles with their classmates, especially if they find out that their classmates are interested in a certain book or book series. Most teachers participate in the book reading book order club so that students have the opportunity to order books to have at their home. Equally important, teachers earn free books for their classroom library. Typically, they order books that their classroom has demonstrated interest when each student completed an interest survey at the beginning of the school year.Providing Leadership OpportunitiesThe last reason why a classroom librarian is important is because of the leadership opportunity that is available for students. Depending on the classroom library inventory, it may be necessary to hire additional classmates to help the classroom librarian out. These students will serve as the classroom library aides who will have a specific set of responsibilities to ensure that each classmate has a great experience when visiting the classroom library. Classroom librarians are able to work on their leadership opportunities and learn how to build a working relationship with their peers. The bottom line is that teachers who make a conscious decision to incorporate a classroom library will provide a learning opportunity that will go well beyond the classroom.
