Using, and becoming proficient with, a single lens reflex (SLR) camera is one of the pinnacles of amateur Photography, and with the drop in cost and the increase in quality of digital technology; every serious photographer should use a digital SLR. The cameras are very versatile and offer the user the ability to create the photograph he actually envisions. With the multitude of settings on a digital SLR, the photographer can go from being a complete point and shoot novice to managing every little detail in the photograph, all without having to further upgrade to a new camera.
