A is the front row, numbered in sequence to the last row (I think it goes to about letter U or so). For sections above entrances, the 'front row' is numbered in sequence with the rest, so the first row of seating in those 4 sections is really row "G" not "A".

I'm not sure why one would want to name a whole column, when the column is already 'named' by its letter/s, but Select the column, and enter the desired name in the text-box in the Formula Bar. When you have typed the name, press the enter key, or it will not retain the name.
