they have enough money for a good lawers

Oh what a stupid question! Yes, there are stupid questions!

They don't pay less tax...in fact they pay much, much more tax. They just may pay less of a percent of what they earn and have.

Don't you think its kind of dumb and really unfair they have to pay as much as they do, considering they generally use so much fewer public services than people who make less?

And of course, they pay a whole lot more in those "other taxes"...like sales tax, excise tax, property taxes etc. They buy/spend more (on almost any tax alone) than low income people make! They pay huge tax on say a hotel room, a new car, anything "special".... not only more as a percent of income, but more as a real amount.

Yes, Warren Buffet (one of the USA richest people) says he pays less of a percentage of his income than his secretary. BUT HE BACKED OFF OF THAT AFTERWARD. AND IN EITHER CASE he pays many tens, actually hundreds - perhaps hundreds of thousands or MILLIONS of TIMES what she even earns!

NO, RICH PEOPLE ARE NOT THE PROBLEM. Almost 50% of all Americans pay NO TAX. (They earn too little). Of them about 40% actually get $$$ back from the US in the form of welfare, earned income credit, etc.

Wouldn't it be fairer...just all around more correct, to insist all people pay the same amount, or maybe some pay less if they agree to not use all the benefits others may get. (They agree to pay for their own medical, retirement, education, etc., etc., not just not pay anything and have others provide it).....

How insulting to think for one moment that the 5% that pay 95% of all the tax (that is the common analysis for ease of statement - and it may actually be worse with 3% pay 98% of the tax) - aren't paying enough!

In the same world that says someone else should pay more because they have more, it would have to hold that people with less should talk less...a lot less. That thier opinion is worth less. That you should do more of what those with more want you to. Makes sense....I pay for you...you shut up and do what I say. right? maybe you'll have some gratitude, some respect for what your given then. If not, i have no problem with you just not taking any...pay your own way.

Your original question shows such an ignorance...such a predisposition to wanting something to be that isn't, such an ability to spread lies, Propaganda and hate, you really should take up the cause of spreading the word of the truth, now that you know and have been taken to task for it.

Of course, if you find that hard, you could become part of the 3% and pay for the other 97%...and then put up with their indignation it isn;'t enough.

Or pay your own way.

Now, why should I pay more than you?

the progressive tax system is the ideal one because it would not be unfair to the people whose income are less because the more you earn, the higher your tax rate.So it means that people who earn less will pay less tax rate while those people who earn more will pay more tax rate.
