Charles A. Lindbergh took off on May 20, 1927 from Roosevelt Field near New York. He was flying a plane named The Spirit of St. Louis. A little less than 34 hours later, he landed in Le Bourget Field in Paris, France. He was the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.
