The collision killed all 248 people on board the KLM jet and 335 of 396 people on the Pan Am jet, for a total of 583 fatalities.

Only about 0.000001% of planes ever crash. Generally, the drive down to the airport is much more dangerous than flying a plane.

There was no plane crash in Coronation Street in 2011. However, at the end of 2010 there was a tram crash that caused Molly Dobbs and Ashley Peacock to die and many others were seriously injured. Coronation Street is only ever filmed in the actual street, we very rarely see anywhere else. Therefore a plane crash is quite unlikely to occur on Coronation Street.
