The line most recently constructed from scratch is Midway Orange Line. However, the newest route is the Pink Line. It operates over track that used to be a branch of the Blue Line and then over a newly reconstructed connector to the Loop.
From Union Station, the best way to get to O'Hare is to walk 2 blocks south on Clinton Street to the Clinton stop on the Blue Line. It will be a subway stop under the expressway overpass at that point. The fare is $2.25, purchasable at the station, and from there to O'Hare takes about 46 minutes.
