I cannot give you a precise answer, but I have read repeatedly that "jet fuel" differs very little from what is called "#1 Kerosene".

--------------------------------------------------------

Fuel chemistry is a blend of compromises. Kerosene offers a lot of BTUs and is still relatively volatile so it burns readily. Additives (like naptha) help increase the volatility. By comparison, diesel has more BTUs per pound but is less volatile (requires more energy input to get it to burn) and gasoline is more volatile but has fewer BTUs per pound.

BTW, aviation fuel is measured by weight rather than volume because volume changes with temperature and altitude.

Jet A, which is used in turbine aircraft, is a highly purified form of white kerosene.

What fuel is used in airplanes and aircraft?

Gasoline(petrol) is used in small piston engined aircraft and different forms of kerosene are used in jets.

Why is kerosene used as jet fuels instead of petrol?

It is not kerosene but a kerosene type fuel used in jets or aircraft. Jet fuel is a mixture of various hydrocarbons. Jet fuel must be free from water contamination. Synthetic Jet fuel and Jet biofuels are used in different airways. Chemically they are not exactly same as kerosene or petrol.

Why aviation turbine fuel is used only for aircraft?

Jet fuel is actually very similar to Diesel fuel as they both are kerosene based. However Jet fuel is better refined in order to have as little water in it as possible.

Piston aircraft use gasoline and Jets use a form of kerosene

Which fuel is used in passenger airplane?

Aircraft with jet or turbine engines use varities of kerosene.

What is kerosene and for what it could be used?

Kerosene is a fraction of petroleum that is less volatile than gasoline. Kerosene was first used in lamps as a replacement for whale oil. Its main use now is as jet aircraft fuel (usually JP-1 but there are higher grades), it is also used as fuel in some rocket motors (usually RP-1 but there are higher grades), also kerosene heaters, etc.

What type of fuel do planes use?

Planes typically use aviation fuel, which is a specialized type of fuel designed for aircraft engines. The most common type of aviation fuel is known as Jet A or Jet A1, which is kerosene-based. Some small aircraft may use aviation gasoline (avgas) instead.

What fuel used in jet air crafts?

Aviation fuel is a special petroleum- based fuel used to fuel jet air crafts.

What is the real name of the white petrol?

A fraction of kerosene formed during the process of distillation of crude oil. It is popularly used as an aircraft fuel.
