So, I just spent a half hour or so researching this myself and wanted to share my answer.Assuming 2" diam. pipe and 9 Ga. Fencing I am have calculated a weight of approx. 200# for an 8' tall by 10' long section (I included 10 # for hardware). That's 20#/ft.

According to the Hoover Fence catalog (http://www.hooverfence.com/catalog/cpage5.htm), depending on the gauge* of the fence, the fencing alone (no posts, etc.) weighs between 2.4 lbs (11.5 gauge) to 4.2 lbs (9 gauge) per linear foot for a 6-foot high fence.
* chain link fencing normally comes in 11.5 gauge, 11 gauge, or 9 gauge. The lower the gauge, the thicker the wire.

Well, isn't that a lovely question! To find the number of linear feet in 1700 square feet, we need to know the shape of the area. If it's a square or rectangle, you can find the perimeter by adding up all the sides to get the linear feet. If it's a circle or irregular shape, it's a bit more complex, but you can still find the approximate linear measurement by using mathematical formulas or measuring tools. Just remember, there's always a happy little solution waiting for you!

We are a national wholesaler of aluminum fence and railings not installers. However, our empirical experience, gathered from all over the country, is that rates (per foot) vary wildly from as little as $6 to as much as $75!! Most frequently, we hear rates in the $12-$15 per foot range, which may be more of a median price than an average.
streach it der are you stupid or what god save me
The average cost of a fence is 10-12 dollars per linear foot.
A privacy fence will vary depending on materials and size. A 25 linear foot privacy fence that is wood will run around 500 dollars.
A 8' fence will have a higher cost per foot than a 6' will. Most quotes will be based on linear footage + gates and extras.
It's dependent on the style and the material used.

In TN my company charges about $4-$5 per foot depending on conditions labor only. Height and gates will change your materials costs. Materials for a 4 foot fence are running about $6 a foot in our area.

A 16 gauge metal stud typically weighs around 0.5 pounds per linear foot.
A pressure treated 6x6 usually weighs around 3.2 pounds per linear foot.
A foot IS a linear measure so a foot is a linear foot. So 84 linear feet is 84 feet.
