replace wire from coil to distributor or inertia switch lower side panel under glove box.
i had the same problem, replaced everything and it turned out to be the distributor, they go bad on these vehicles.
It could be that the distributor was not the problem. Need to know what the code is and what engine you have.
No. The fuel pump should run for 2 seconds when the key is cycled from off to run, regardless of whether there is a problem in the ignition system or not.
Could be the ignition coil, distributor, distributor cap & rotor or even spark plugs and wires.
this is possible but you need a spare from a donor vehicle so i only recomend replacing the whole distributor. i had a problem with the sensors in distributor. the whole distributor is built as a one piece unit. meaning all parts of the distributor are integrated in such a way that the only thing that can be removed is the ignition coil, BUT it is not meant to be replaced by itself. it is designed for replacement even if one thing on it fails, and that is an indicator that the whole thing is gonna fail. REPLACE THE WHOLE UNIT. if you look on eBay you can get a NEW one for under 200.
Typically a problem with the ignition timing. Possibly a bad rotor or distributor cap.
Save yourself a lot of time and frustration. If you are having starting issues (cranking but no start) you probably have a spark problem. I just dealt with this on my 91 Accord. I replaced the plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, coil, ignition control module. After a little more research I found out that I should just replace the entire distributor instead of trying to rebuild it. There is a problem with the wiring. A new (or remanufactured) unit fired my car right up
Is it a brand new distributor ? If not then replace the module and pick-up coil in the distributor that you have.
its not your ignition its your crankshaft sensor that's the same problem i had.
I have 2008 and had same problem the ignition had to be replaced was really fast less than an hour they did it.
Perhaps bad ignition coil.
Car is running now. I replaced Distributor, which has ignition coil built into it. And that solved the problem. Thanks ankyways.
