There could be several problems including a faulty thermostat, low coolant, a bad water pump, or an operable radiator, or leaky hoses. Narrow these down and you should be able to find the problem.

Water pump malfunctioning. Thermostat stuck closed or partially closed. Radiator plugged with sediement.
I had the same trouble. Found it to be a short in the front parking light bulbs. I had to take it to a GM dealer and pay over $100 just to find out it was as simple as that. It worked for me. Good luck.

there are over 100 black gorunds on the car but it would be safe to say to the body or frame or engine basically anywhere that is gorunded

There are a couple of reasons why a 1996 Cadillac Seville SLS may overheat. The coolant may be low or the thermostat needs to be replaced.
pull your air filter off turn car over if it shoots out fluid then your thermostat isn't stuck if you take it out and turn the car over it should spit antifreeze out cost a couple bucks for a new 1
Check your fan to see if it is turning good with force when hot, you may need to replace the clutch fan.
