To remove air from the power steering system of a 2000 Mercury Sable, start by checking the power steering fluid level and ensuring it is filled to the recommended level. Next, with the engine running, turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times to help circulate the fluid and expel air bubbles. Afterward, inspect the fluid level again and top it off if necessary. Finally, check for any leaks and ensure the system is functioning smoothly.
